Your information and your choices.

Information you provide

If you request a resource or subscribe, we collect your email address and record your subscription choices, and the answers you choose in a quiz or survey. If you contact us, we receive your message and the information you include. We do not ask for your payment-card details; recommended sellers handle their own checkout.

Visits, links and delivery information

• A visitor cookie. Our own site sets one cookie holding a random ID, so we can recognize a returning visitor and count visits correctly. It contains no name or email address. We do not load third party trackers, pixels or ad scripts on our pages.
• How you use our pages. Pages viewed, how far you scroll, how much of a video you watch, the buttons you click, and the link or ad that brought you here.
• Device and connection details. Browser and device type, and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your connection. Your IP address, browser details and postal code are kept for no more than 30 days.
• Purchases. If you buy a product we feature, the seller processes your order on their own checkout. We receive a notice of the sale (an order number, the product and the amount) so we know which page or ad led to it. We never see your card details.

Why we use it

We use this information to deliver requested content, show you the page and video you asked for and remember where you stopped watching, manage subscriptions, respond to requests, prevent abuse and bots, understand which pages, videos and ads work, and avoid sending product pitches after a recorded purchase. Pixel opens alone are not treated as confirmation that a person accessed a free resource.

When you arrive from an ad, we tell the advertising platform that showed it when a visit, sign up, checkout or purchase happened, so it can measure the ad and show it to people likely to find it useful (see Our ad partners). We send this from our own server. Where we share an email address or ID for this, we send a scrambled (hashed) version, and we include your IP address and browser details only to help the platform match the event. When you follow a recommendation, the affiliate network and the seller receive referral information. Their own notices apply to their services.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not rent or give away our email list. The ad measurement above can count as "sharing" under California law: see California privacy rights and Your Privacy Choices.

Our ad partners

We run ads on NewsBreak, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Whop. When you reach us from one of their ads, we send that partner, from our own server, a record of what happened next: a visit, a sign up, a checkout or a purchase.

• NewsBreak and Meta. If you sign up, they receive a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email address, with technical data about your visit: your IP address, device and browser details, and an approximate location (country, region and city).
• Whop. Whop receives the visitor ID that Whop itself attached to its ad link. We do not send Whop your email address, IP address or browser details.

Partners use this to measure our ads, to match a sign up or sale to the right ad click, and to show our ads to people likely to find them useful. Only the partner whose ad you clicked receives anything. Nothing is sent if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or you opt out on Your Privacy Choices. Each partner's own privacy policy covers what it does with the data.

Your privacy choices

Use the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of any page to opt out of sharing for targeted ads. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically: if your browser sends it, nothing about your visits, sign ups or purchases is sent to any advertising platform. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser; the pages still work. These choices do not change your email subscription.

Email choices

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. A request to stop marketing applies to this brand. A minimal scrambled suppression record is kept to respect that choice and prevent accidental resubscription through an import. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your subscription.

How long we keep it

• IP address, browser details and postal code: up to 30 days.
• Visit records tied to the random visitor ID: up to about 13 months, longer only where they are linked to a purchase.
• Your email address: until you unsubscribe or stop opening our emails for a long time, when we remove you. After an unsubscribe we keep only a scrambled marker so we never email that address again.

Access is restricted to authorized systems and people. No internet service can promise absolute security.

California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

When you arrive from an ad, we tell the advertising platform that showed it about your visit, sign up, checkout or purchase, as described above, so it can measure the ad and show our ads to people like you. We send the click ID the platform gave your ad click, a scrambled (hashed) version of identifiers such as our visitor ID and, if you signed up, your email address, plus your IP address and browser details to help the platform match the event. California law calls this "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and other US states have similar rules for "targeted advertising". We do not sell your personal information for money.

• Your right to opt out. You can tell us not to share your personal information for targeted ads. See Your Privacy Choices for how.
• Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out: nothing about your visits, sign ups or purchases is sent to any advertising platform. We still count your visit in our own statistics.
• Your other rights. You may ask to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may use an authorized agent to ask for you. Write to hello@s2.sideincomenotes.com. We answer within 30 days, and we will never treat you differently for using any of these rights. Residents of the European Union and the United Kingdom have these rights by law too, and we honor them for everyone.
• Sensitive information. We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Audience and changes

This site is intended for adults and serves a United States audience. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. We update this notice when our practices change and show the latest revision date on this page.
